Marianne Hovdan is ICORN's Programme Officer.
Marianne Hovdan (1977) is Programme Officer at ICORN and she is responsible for ICORNs applicants; she handles the applications from persecuted writers and artists, works closely with the researchers during the assessment process and with the ICORN member cities when presenting approved candidates for ICORN residencies. Marianne has been with ICORN since 2010 and has previously held positions at the ICORN secretariat working with both finance, communication and organising international meetings.
Marianne came to ICORN from Amnesty International Norway where she managed national youth activism and served as a Regional Manager. She has also worked as a freelance writer and was the city of refuge coordinator in Stavanger for three years.
Marianne holds an MA degree in Sociology in addition to a BA in Psychology. Her MA thesis focused on women, migration and workers’ rights and her research led to legislative changes in Norway.
