Children in War exhibition at Avistegnernes hus (the Cartoonists House) in Drøbak 10 september - 8 November 2015

On the initiative of ICORN cartoonists and the House of Cartoonists in Drøbak, Norway, the exhibition Children in War opens on Thursday 10 September, portraying the tragic dail0y life of thousands of children living in war, conflict areas and on the run.

As tens of thousands are fleeing civil war and unrest, the world faces one of the largest refugee crises ever. The most innocent victims of the atrocities of war is children.

67 cartoonists from 51 countries draws attention to the situation of innumerous children living in war and conflict areas; in Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Gaza, Somalia a.o. These children’s basic right to survival, protection and development are deprived. They are afraid, they are hungry, they are hurt and even dead. They have lost their homes, family members, friends and schools. We see them in refugee camps, destroyed cities and we see them fleeing into an unknown destiny.

The exhibition is curated by Avistegnernes hus (the Cartoonists House), in cooperation with ICORN cartoonists Arifur Rahman from Bangladesh and Fadi Abou Hassan from Palestine/Syria.

Fadi Abou Hassan says

Thanks to Norway. Thanks to all those who support and help our children, and spread the humanitarian message of the world with this cartoons exhibition. It was an idea in Syria, but now it become a reality in Norway. Our children grew up before they were supposed to do. therefore, they did not have the chance to live their childish dreams, because of savagery of the war in Syria.. Iraq..Yemen and Palestine. Norway's name have written and will be written by gold in the history of human for it is support this humanitarian message of humanity.
Thank you all. On behalf of Syrian children and myself. I thank you all
