Creative Writing Workshops with Anisur Rahman

Anisur Rahman, Bangladeshi poet, translator, journalist, and Uppsala's former ICORN writer in residence from 2009-2011, will host a series of workshops at Oslo's Nordic Black Theatre from 6 September 2011.  The workshops target aspiring writers and will have a different Norwegian guest writer at each session.

The program consists of four workshops that will help fledgling authors understand the writing process, develop ideas, and read their own work with a critical eye. Speakers will also advise on how to forge a career as a writer.  Guest speakers include Håkan Sandell, Iliyasu Kasimu, John Y. Jones, Philo Ikonya, and Erling Kittelsen.  The workshops will take place every Tuesday in September, beginning 6 September 2011, from 17.00-19.30.   Entry is free.  The Nordic Black Theatre is located on Hollendergata 8, Oslo.   Following the last workshop, the Nordic Black Theatre Poetry Festival will be held on 27 September, featuring artists from Kenya, Bangladesh, Georgia, and Scandinavia.

For more information, please see the Nordic Black Theatre web site.
