Depending on your definition of danger, the article begins, at this very second Mexico is the only country that could arguably be considered more perilous and hopelessly fucked than Syria. The magazine elaborates on the apparent paradox and finds it odd that Mohamad Alaeedin Abdul Moula, a talented and prolific poet from the war torn city of Homs, decided to flee his home for a crime-and-violence-ridden Mexico.
But, after telling the story of how Mr. Moula had to escape Syria and became an ICORN guest writer, the location of the paradox safe haven is revealed: That place was the Citlaltépetl Refuge House in Mexico City, located in a beautiful area in the Condesa neighborhood (...) Casa Refugio Citlaltépetl Mexico City has been an ICORN member since the network started operating in 2006, has hosted a wide range of persecuted writers. Additional to Mr. Moula, Casa Refugio with its director Philippe Olle-Laprune is presently also hosting the distinguished Iranian writer Moshen Emadi within the ICORN programme.
