Haugesund Celebrates Guest Writer Andrei Nekrasov
Nekrasov has directed 11 films and TV-productions, most of them documentary focusing on human rights, Russian politics and conflict issues. He has also written numerous stage plays and scripts, and is an active contributor to newspapers and web sites. His films have been shown at international film festivals, including Cannes and Sundance, and have won numerous awards. His documentary Disbelief (2004) about the 1999 bombing of an apartment building in Moscow sheds light on both terrorism and post-Soviet government operations. His latest film, Russian Lessons (2009), deals with the Russian-Georgian war in 2008. He has also directed some of his own plays for stage in Germany.
The presentation of Nekrasov as Haugesund City of Refuge's new Guest Writer will take place atHøyskolen Stord/Haugesund (HSH) Monday August 22nd at 6 pm, please see program here.
Nekrasov will also participate at Kapittel, Stavanger International Festival for Literature and Freedom of Expression, in September this year.
