ICORN writer at intercultural art seminar at the Karen Blixen Museum
Included in the distinguished group is Noufel Bouzeboudja, ICORN guest writer from Algeria who currently lives in Fanø City of Refuge. The theme of the discussions is 'Reflections on Black Identity: Navigating New Solutions within Old and New Systems of Thought.'
Participants, who themselves hail from three different continents, have already spent the past three days developing ideas in small groups on the topics of Divine Spirits and Independent Politics in the hopes of building stronger connections among the cultures of the Caribbean, the Americas, Africa, and Europe.
The BAT seminar will take place from 10-17 on Friday, 1 June 2012 at the Karen Blixen Museum in Runsted Kyst, near downtown Copenhagen. Tickets can be purchased for the event.
Noufel Bouzeboudja recently has published his latest collection of poems, titled 'Brut-as i wawal-iw!' (Free/Curse My Word!) The work is written in the Kabyle, a language spoken in parts of northern Algeria. The collection focuses on the concepts of authority and free speech within Bouzeboudja's homeland.
