'Just A Tiny Piece of Freedom'

"The more cities joining ICORN, the more win/win situations are generated" you can read in this year's Seasonal Greetings from ICORN.

"2011 has been a hectic, eventful and prosperous year for ICORN", Helge Lunde is summing up in this year's seasonal greetings. "Only the second year after being established as an independent, international organisation, we count as many as 40 ICORN member cities. The ICORN Administration Centre has received more than 40 applications from persecuted writers this year, and by 1 December 16 new guest writers had arrived safely in one of the ICORN member cities since January 2011."

"Let us work together, though" the greetings ends, "from Bergen to Barcelona, from Chiusi to Copenhagen, from Kristiansand to Krakow, from Lillehammer to Ljubljana, from Malmö to Mexico City, from Paris to Palma, to create more tiny pieces or rather pockets of freedom, so that freedom of expression can become more than just a distant ideal for an increasing amount of human beings in the year to come."
