Meet ICORN writers at the Nordic Free Expression Week in Uppsala

ICORN writers residing in Sweden and Norway participate in a series of events during the Nordic Free Expression Week in Uppsala on 23-27 November.

They will take part in debate, readings and performances hosted by the Uppsala Literary Centre.

On the 25th of November, Ragib Zarakolu (Sigtuna), Ashraf Attaqci (Stockholm) and Dessale Berekhet (Norway) along with ICORN board member Annika Strömberg and Finland Times’ chief editor O.H. Ruhin will participate in a panel discussion on ‘Free expression and digital media in Scandinavia’. Dagens Nyheter’s former editor-in-chief Arne Ruth will moderate the debate at the Literary Centre.

Zurab Rtveliashvili (Stockholm), Sedigheh Vasmagi (Uppsala) and Anisur Rahman (Uppsala) will participate in a discussion, reading and performance at the Uppsala City Theatre on the 26th of November. Anisur will also lead a creative writing workshop at the Uppsala City Library on the same day.

On 27th of November, Anisur along with theatre director Magnus Dahlerus and writer Katrin Geneuss will lead a workshop on writing dialogue for Katedral School’s students at the Theatre Blanca, Uppsala.

Poet and publisher Kristian Carlsson will present the literary works of ICORN guest writers including those of Zurab Rtveliashvili, Nasrin Madani, Parvin Ardalan, Naeimeh Doostdar and Anisur Rahman at the Writing Café at Studiefrämjandet’s Kontakten, Gottsunda Cultural Centre on the 24th of November

Among others Danish Academy member Pia Tafdrup, Uppsala kommun’s cultural board chairman Peter Gustavsson and Uppsala County’s cultural director Anna Söderbäck will also join with the ICORN writers at the Uppsala City Theatre. Detailed programme
