Antwerp is a vibrant and welcoming metropolis, with peaceful corners and green areas. It is a cultural capital which prides itself on its architecture and art, including a contemporary art scene, ranging from internationally renowned museums, galleries, and art centres as well as artistic residencies, project spaces, and pop-up exhibitions.
The ICORN programme in Antwerp is possible thanks to a cooperation between PEN Flanders, the Flemish Centre of PEN International, the City of Antwerp, and the University of Antwerp.
Through PEN Flanders, Antwerp has been hosting writers in ICORN residencies since 2012. The city officially joined ICORN in 2019.
