Helsinki joined ICORN in 2018 through a cooperation with Artists at Risk (AR) and their Safe Haven Helsinki long-term residency programme.
The AR programme is curated by Perpetuum Mobile, the official hosts of the ICORN programme in Helsinki.
In 2019, Helsinki welcomed artists Saddam Jumaily and Kholod Hawash as the first AR-ICORN residents in the city. Their residency was hosted through a cooperation with the HIAP – Helsinki International Artist Programme and funded by the Department of Culture and Leisure of the City of Helsinki.
