Reykjavík, one of the smallest capital cities in Europe, joined ICORN in 2011.

The city has a fascinating history rooted in the great Sagas and a unique location of diverse landscapes. From the Vikings of old, to the architects and innovators of contemporary culture, many different groups have influenced Reykjavík to be the vibrant city that it is today.

The ICORN programme in Reykjavík is managed by the city's Human Rights Office and in partnership with Reykjavík library, The Writers‘ Union of Iceland, Reykjavík UNESCO City of Literature, Reykjavík Academy, PEN in Iceland and the Icelandic Institute of International Affairs.

Since joining ICORN, Reykjavík has hosted four writers, artists, and journalists in ICORN residencies- Samson Habte, Naila Zahin  Ana, Orlando Luis  Pardo Lazo, and Mazen Maarouf.
