Patricia Diaz
Patricia Diaz joined ICORN as Protection Consultant in March 2022. Patricia has over twenty years’ experience working in human rights. She is a qualified lawyer in her country of origin, Bolivia, where she worked as a researcher for the Bolivian Human Rights Ombudsman, and for civil society organisations.
In the UK, Patricia worked for Amnesty International on both its Americas programme and its Legal programme, where she assisted in the research of the implementation of the treaty of the International Criminal Court (ICC). Prior to ICORN, Patricia worked for PEN International for fourteen years on various issues around freedom of expression, either with a regional focus, or in thematic areas, including the Universal Periodic Review mechanism of the UN. Her last position in PEN was as Protection Coordinator, supporting persecuted writers, journalists, and artists at risk, and researching applications for assistance.
Patricia holds an LLM in International Human Rights from Leicester University, UK, achieved after obtaining a Chevening Scholarship.
