Ammar Tassaei is an Iranian writer and journalist from an Arabic speaking minority group in the province of Ahwaz, southern Iran. He has worked on the newspapers Hadith, Hamasayeha, and Shora and has reported for BBC Persian.

Tassaei has written and reported on Arab minority rights in Iran and as a result, has been harassed and arrested for his work and activism.

After 2003, Tassaei was banned for working with foreign media and dismissed from his job in Iran.

In 2010, he took up an ICORN residency in Molde, Norway.
