On World Refugee Day: PEN brings interview with Iranian journalist Sahar Bayati
The world is facing one of the largest crises in refugee history. On World refugee day, UNHCR reported that the number of forcibly displaced people is higher than it has ever been since the end of World War II. A number driven largely by the war in Syria. ICORN continues to see an increase in applications from persecuted writers, particularly from Syria. But the majority still comes from Iran, which has one of the highest numbers of imprisoned writers in PEN’s case list.
ICORN's close partner PEN International celebrates sanctuary on World Refugee Day and brings an interview with Iranian journalist and ICORN guest writer in Haugesund, Sahar Bayati: Celebrating Sanctuary: Exiled Voices Speak Out on World Refugee Day
